Follow the steps below to fix the error: tun needs to be installed.

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade -y

Create the TUN device

mkdir /dev/net
mknod /dev/net/tun c 10 200
chmod 666 /dev/net/tun

After running those commands, install your OpenVPN as normal.
